Clinical Counselling

I am a Registered Psychologist practicing in Edmonton, Alberta. I have been providing counselling services since 2014, and I specialize in working with adults who have experienced grief, trauma and major life events that have caused disruptions to their life. I am passionate about walking with you in your journey and doing my best to help encourage and strengthen you in whatever situation you may be in. I am a Psychologist who also happens to be rooted in Christianity, however, it is your choice if you would like faith integrated into your treatment.

As a Registered Psychologist, I provide services from an integrative perspective. What that means is, I include various approaches to best suit your needs, challenges and stages of life. Primarily, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Soultion-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Person-centered Therapy, Mindfulness, The Grief Recovery Method®, and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy.

I am deeply passionate about helping people and am honored to be able to share in the healing process with my clients. I believe the therapeutic relationship between the client and myself is one of the most important elements in creating a safe place for healing and growth. I has found that clients connect with my through my accepting and non-judgement nature, sense of humour, and the resources I provide during session.

My areas of speciality include grief and loss, anxiety and anxiety disorders, issues related to identity and self-worth, attachment issues, healing trauma and PTSD, and faith related issues.

I have a varied professional background. My experiences include working as a specialized elementary school teacher locally and internationally, working collaboratively with Child and Family Services, working in community mental health, and private counselling services. I truly enjoy designing and teaching adult anxiety psychoeducational groups as well as facilitating Grief Recovery Method support groups.

I have obtained a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle. I’ve also earned a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta. I hold memberships with the College of Alberta Psychologists, Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the Psychologist Association of Alberta.

I recently completed a two year course with Desert Streams in November 2021. Desert Streams is a healing ministry in Edmonton, Alberta. The course provided me a very in-depth and comprehensive base for Christian healing ministry.

Murray is my certified therapy dog. He’s an 30 pound Australian Labradoodle and was born February 28, 2020. Murray loves to cuddle; you could say he’s a professional. He is in office on Tuesday and Friday.

Murray is not a service dog that was trained to assist a certain disability or concern. Unlike service dogs, therapy dogs are encouraged to interact with a variety of people while they are on-duty including being pet and touched.
